Farmacia Locatel de Caracas begins accepting payments with cryptocurrencies
The clients of the operator of Locatel pharmacies, will be able to make the payment of their consumptions using their funds deposited in the platform of AirTM, a service of exchange and custody of cryptocurrencies.
The company released the information on Thursday, June 13, noting that, in addition to payments, those interested in taking advantage of this agreement may also withdraw bolivars in cash. Locatel users can deposit cryptocurrencies such as bitcoin (BTC), litecoin (LTC), dogecoin (DOGE) and dai (DAI), among others, as well as manage their AirUSD, the unit of account with which funds are handled in their platform.
It should be noted that this service is only available at a Locatel branch, located on Vargas Street, Boleíta Norte, in the city of Caracas, capital of the Caribbean country. Locatel would be working together with AirTM to expand this new service to other branches in Caracas and in the rest of the country, according to what was said through the company’s Twitter account.
Venezuela is one of the countries with the largest scope of AirTM services. The company raised about USD 7 million in a round of financing, ensuring that this country would be one of the main markets of its platform. It has even created economic support campaigns for the South American nation, especially in the midst of the economic crisis that the country suffers.
