Liqui Exchange closes its operations

The Ukrainian-based exchange, Liqui, announced the cessation of its commercial operations. This makes it the first exchange platform to close its doors so far in 2019.

In a statement addressed to its users, the exchange noted:

“Liqui is no longer able to provide liquidity to the remaining users. Nor do we see any economic sense in providing our services. However, we do not want to go back to where we were a month ago. Therefore, we decided to close all accounts and stop providing our services. It broke our hearts to do that”.

Previously, Liqui had avolume of operations that approached USD $ 85,000 in 24-hour periods. The exchange was best known for listing currencies with lower market values, which could have been harder to find on other platforms.

Users will have 30 days to with draw their funds, according to the Liqui page:

“After 30 days we cannot guarantee that we will maintain our website. In this case, all with drawals will be processed through our support until the last user stores their assets with us”.

The statement also reads:

“If we do not provide services we cannot store your assets for free, so the fee will be applied if it is not with drawn in accordance with our Terms of Use”.
