Ukrainian police shuts down an online drug market.

The Ukrainian police closed an online marketplace that was trafficking illegal drugs, according to official reports, the market was active for a long time, announcing its products throughout the additional Ukrainian territory and this advertisement through posters in the streets of different cities, such as Kiev, Zaporizhia, Dnepr, Krivoy Rog, Kharkov, Nikolayev and other surrounding regions.

The operations were developed with participation of different platforms such as Jabber, Telegram, Skype, Viber, among others. Once communication is established between sellers and buyers, they agreed drugs costs and payments in Bitcoin. Once the business between the two sides the “package” was sent by courier to the buyer’s dictated destination. The platform also offers the option of shopping without making personal contact through dead drops.

The ukrainian national police, constantly monitors patterns from Internet advertising, this term monitoring in a drug raid where they arrested the managers, operators and drug dealers linked to drug trafficking online. In this fact they seized more than 500,000 Hryvnia ( Ukraine’s local currency) from the sale of ecstasy tablets, methamphetamines, spice, marijuana and other narcotics and psychotropics. They have also confiscated various office equipment, computers, and receipts. Under the Article 307 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, the detainees could face up to 12 years in prison.

So far they have not indicated more details related to this online drug market. Such raids have been developed in several countries and have been very successful in their development. There are several platforms that have been closed after being discovered, as in the case of The Silk Road, a media event that is considered as one of the largest raids in history.
